Plastic materials have a variety of uses within the sign industry. Some of these include economical yard signs, indoor identification signs, safety signs, promotional signs, point of purchase, trade show, and the large lit sign faces just to name a few.

Acrylic
Acrylic is commonly used for sign faces in lighted sign boxes up to a certain size. It is also used as directory signs and safety signs. It has low shrinkage and superior resistance to weathering and crazing. Acrylic comes in clear and several standard, High Gloss Brilliant colors.
- It comes in 1/16", 1/8", 1/4", & 3/16" thicknesses
- Can be back lettered & painted to keep the letters from peeling off the front on the sign
Available colors: Clear, White, Black, Blue, Dark Yellow, Ivory, Light Yellow, and Red
Coroplast
Coroplast standard sheets have been treated to allow for excellent adhesion quality to aid in vinyl and printing for the graphics arts fields. It is also extremely durable because it is waterproof and resistant to stains and most chemicals. Corrugated plastic comes with flutes running either vertical or horizontal, depending on how the sign will need to be used and mounted.
- Good for real estate and yard signs
- Coroplast uses a copolymer resin in order to increase impact and low temperature performance
- Coroplast retains the ability to be flexed an unlimited number of times without breaking.
- Performs well under adverse weather conditions or when exposed to harsh chemicals.
- Waterproof
- Comes in 4mm (standard) or 10 mm (for large signs)
Available colors: Red, Black, Green, Dk. Green, Lt. Blue, Blue, Navy Blue, Orange, White, Black, Cream, and Purple

Polycarbonate
Polycarbonate signs offer outstanding toughness and weatherability. Polycarbonate is often selected as a replacement for acrylic sheeting due to its significantly greater inpact strength (many times stronger than acryilic.) This material resits tearing, abrasion, heat, yellowing, cracking, and crazing.
- Comes in 1/8" & 3/16" thicknesses
- Recommended for larger sized lit boxes due to its resistance to cracking
- Usually used for pan-faced signs
Available colors: Clear and White. Clear faces can be painted internally to make a custom color. A translucent vinyl print can also be layed on polycarbonate to make a billboard of a colorful design.
Polystyrene
Polystyrene is a thin, satin plastic material used primarily for indoor or temporary outdoor signage. Polystyrene signs are a closed-cell plastic substrate that is much denser than PVC. This flexible, durable material is ideal for the customer seeking cost effective signage.
- Recommended for indoor use, outdoor use should be considered limited.
- Not resistant to sunlight; yellowing may occur.
- Waterproof
- Comes in several different gauges; .060 (standard)
- .040 is usually used best for displays such as retail and trade shows panels
Available colors: White
PVC
PVC is a closed-cell substrate that will not absorb water or moisture. PVC sign blanks are high strength, low weight, rigid and stable, and offer excellent outdoor weatherability. Surfaces are flat with a smooth, matte finish on both sides.
- Recommended for indoor use
- Best for close-up displays because of matte finish (no glare)
- Available in 1mm, 3mm & 6mm (3mm is stocked)
- Can be painted, screen printed, or vinyl applied
